Nice to see the old home place on the net and read about the town where I was brought up. Sure do miss eating the fiddle heads like your showing.
Any way keep up the good work.

I was looking at your wonderful little town.
Our little community is also Grand Isle. We are on the coast of Louisiana.
I enjoyed seeing a piece of your community.
Congratulations on your 140th year.

I was so surprised to find such a wonderful and beautiful web site in such a small town! I asked a simple question and was given a speedy and promising reply.
Thanks for caring … thanks for sharing. You make me want to leave home today to visit (but I think I’ll wait until the snow melts!)

What a beautiful sight to view from up above.
I recognized my grandparents sight where we spent many
early winter mornings warming up before going to school.
It is so good to see that some of you up there have dedicated so many hours
of of your time to bring back the olden days.
Can't wait to see the museum that you are working so hard,
once it is done. Will be sure to make the trip up there to go
visit the old church rectory, the museum.

Informative website!
Has a lot more information that one finds on most town websites.
You've done great job setting it up. Keep up the good work.

Nice website. My mother grew up in Grand Isle. Each summer, my Mom and Dad would pile the
6 kids in the station wagon and drive; what seemed forever; from Wakefield Massachusetts
to my Mom’s old home. She was Dora (Emily) Beaulieu and the home
was right next to St. Gerard’s church. We have many fond memories of our visits there.
Swinging on the School yard swings – visiting the farm that was
behind us and just enjoying those hot summer days that seemed to last forever when you are a kid.
Thanks,
Carol Greene

I was so excited to find your web site! I moved away from Grand Isle in 1955
and lived in Connecticut until 1962. I have lived in Decatur, Il. since then.
The amount of snow you have now is amazing. I remember it up to our rooftop!
Looking forward to reading about my hometown!

I want to compliment this website for its service to the community
and also for its artistic merits. This is the first place to visit to find out about
community events such as benefit dinners, raffles, bingo, etc. This site also has many
interesting pictures, especially in the sections devoted
to the historical society and the fire department.
This website is also fast to post local news events, such as the
breaking of snow records and train derailments.

I thoroughly looked at the site today and was so impressed by the content
and "fun" aspect that was added to it to keep you looking from section to section. Great Job!!
Our "small" town that I live in now should be so organized. Keep up the good work!
